Why I am Boycotting the Mall and Shopping Online

I was surprised to see that on the day after Halloween the shops had their Christmas decorations up. I plan to get a designer bean bag for each of my parents to put on the boat they just purchased. Though I have had the idea of the gift in my mind since they told me that they were going to finally buy a boat, I imagined there was plenty of time left. Now that the tinsel, wreaths and ornaments are out on display I feel a tad behind the ball.

If the shops continue to creep the day that they put the holiday scenes up for Santa to sit, and get the gift wrapping booths up and functioning earlier every year, when will it end? Eventually, it will have to become a year round thing by default. In response to this forcing of the holiday upon me, I have committed to buy all of my gifts online. It is my own mini boycott of sorts. Of course this of all years will be the one where avoiding the malls will be easy because I always intended to get the bean bags online. Now, I just have to remember not to get a leather bean bag for them considering they will be around a great deal of water.
