Of the top 3 product makeovers of the last 5 years, my personal favourite is beanbag furniture. To be frank, I did not see this one as feasible, and as such did not see it coming. Designers took an item from the not so distance past, that was what I thought eternally condemned to the 70s era.

But, good golly almighty have they pulled this one out of the bag. Bean bags have gone from dumpy, ill mannered, rumpled, pieces of quasi furniture. It was almost as if the old bean bag was a bit of a joke. Today, the formerly disposable heaps have been replaced with savvy shapes and dynamic colours in fabrics that scream style. While this dramatic replacement has taken me by surprise, it is one that I stamp my approval upon.
