I decided to motivate myself to try a new yoga centre. After many years of practicing with the same instructor she decided to return to her home in Hull, Massachusetts. Sad as I was, I knew I needed to get back into the swing of things. When I arrived at the new place I was really pleased to see a beautiful facility, and smiling faces. The entry had peaceful music being played, and a comfy bean bag collection looked inviting.
The hot yoga class was just what I was looking for, and not too crowded. The instructor went out of her way to take extra time with the new clients, and most importantly it did not have that funky smell that yoga studios sometimes acquire.
I took a copy of the months schedule on the way out, and snuck a peek at the tag on the bean bag to see who made it. Once home, I was exhausted, but revived too. I will definitely be returning for more classes. So not only did I get out there and find a new yoga spot, but I just ordered one of those great faux leather bean bags from a site called Beans Beans. I remember the bean chair I had back in 1976, and how it sat in the corner of my room with a stack of clothes across it. The problem with it had been that I was always too big for it. I was tall even at 8 years old, and weight gain came easily. I recall that I had really wanted that bean bag, because some other kid in my class had one, and he was considered super cool. Almost from the first day I had it, that seat acted as a resting place for just about everything else, but me.
I came across a bean sofa online recently, and that longing for the cool kids belongings washed over me. While the old fashioned bean seats was never a good match for me, I just cannot resist the temptations to try out the couch version. While pregnant it was a requirement for me to have my maternity pillow with me every night. As I started to doze off I would often feel the baby move a bit until she too was comfortable for bedtime. It felt like a little ritual between the two of us, and I cherished it.
Then once the baby, Delilah, was born I thought she might like her own bean bag support , so she was cradled by a doomoo. In case you are not familiar with the doomoo, it is a well padded, yet safely supported little cradle for babies. She simply loves being in it.
But it seems like her dad is being left out, so I think for Christmas I will get him a wonderful leather bean bag lounger. Then we can all have special items that will aid us in resting happily.

When I was looking for some cute kids furniture for the garden I was reintroduced to bean bags. Being a child myself of the 60s I thought I was in the know when it came to bean filled chairs. Much to my pleasant surprise, there has been a bean bag movement and I like what I see. Now, I did get off track, and did not find the childrens seats I was after. Instead I went on a bit of a tangent, and filled the grown up section that also required seats. Thus, I still need some direction for the kids section. Who knew that a bunch of garden bean bags, some basic green tea and some thrown together at the last minute homemade cookies could have helped me win my mother in law over. Considering I have now been married all of 8 months, and had nothing but rough interaction with the mother in flaw as I like to call her, I look upon this as a pure achievement.
When she showed up unexpected, I smiled and went into survival mode. I ushered her from our front door straight around to the garden. It was after all Sunday morning and cleaning up from the prior week had yet to commence. Luckily, Stuart, the husband was fully clothed and enjoying the paper and a tea. Ellie, the surprise guest, said she had popped in on a lark, and wanted to be no trouble. So, she would have whatever we were drinking.
I sauntered till I was out of view and then went into overdrive with the cookies and the tea. When I returned, she was happily situated on one of the outdoor bean bags taking in the sun. Presently, I have the idea of purchasing a new leather bean bag running through my head. The last one I owned was much loved, and served me well for quite a few years, but I want to upgrade this time. It was actually a hand me down, very standard, and I should mention purple.
