While pregnant it was a requirement for me to have my maternity pillow with me every night. As I started to doze off I would often feel the baby move a bit until she too was comfortable for bedtime. It felt like a little ritual between the two of us, and I cherished it.
Then once the baby, Delilah, was born I thought she might like her own bean bag support , so she was cradled by a doomoo. In case you are not familiar with the doomoo, it is a well padded, yet safely supported little cradle for babies. She simply loves being in it.

So, being new to pregnancy, I have heavily interrogated my female friends with kids. I ask about everything I can think of having to do with expectations of the lasting effects on my body, ways to get organized prior to going into labour, and what really happens during the birthing process.

My goodness are there ever a lot of things to buy when you become pregnant, and everyone seems to have a recommendation. Like where to buy clothes, and what vitamins to take, and what not to eat, and which shoes are the most comfortable, and on and on. But, I can vouch for the fact that the maternity pillow and pregnancy bean bag were great recommendations, unlike the Crocs. Since it was my first pregnancy I was nervous and paid attention to all kinds of advice, all of varying degrees of accuracy. I guess I really should have known that what my sister in law spoke would be right on the money, because she has given birth 4 times. When I found out my best friend Abby was pregnant I think I might have been just as excited as she was.
