I have such excellent memories of the bean bag chair I had back in 1978. It was the only piece of furniture that I was ever allowed to affix my stickers to, or write on with markers. Well, at least intentionally that is. Not to mention the way it could be used as a super sized pillow on a bed.
But, of course that experience was great for a 5 year old. As an adult, I would not be drawn to a neon plastic bag chair. Unless, it morphed into a contemporary shaped, designer chair. It would have to be made of real leather and made so that a grownup to be able to sit and lie upon it.
Now that I think about it, if it came in a range of stylish colours, and had quality stitching, it could be rather fetching. Ever since Brad Pitt left Jennifer Anniston because she was uninterested, and unfamiliar with current events, I have religiously read the paper. However, as embarrassed as I am to admit it, what I really look forward to is the Odd News section of the paper.
In the Odd News portion, I read about men marrying their avitar video game partners, the arrival of the highly anticipated divorce voucher, and people who eat the darndest things. Sure, it is counter productive, considering the reason I started reading the paper was to bone up on important info, not clutter my mind with more nonsense. Still, the silly news does occasionally come in handy for small talk, and to be frank it helps diminish the heavy weight I often feel on my heart after reading the serious stuff.

Bean Bag, the 12 month old Southern Hairy Nosed Wombat has become quite mischievous. Turns out that he dug a hole into a fellow patients aviary as a special Thanksgiving treat for his adoptive family. He made his way into Alice the Wedge Tailed Eagles home, and luckily was not harmed.
I guess he just wanted to see his new friend up close and personal.However, it could have been more than just a life lesson that he came away with considering the situation. Reports say that he learned fast that an eagle is not the best of cuddlers late at night. Sometimes the little ones have to try things for themselves to gain experience. He is a very lucky fellow to have been able to exit quickly enough.

We are of course inspired by the success of Bean Bag the wombats recovery. As per the updates received via Facebook, the sweet darling is blossoming. Most recently, he has become a fan of pellets. With this new found interest, he has apparently gained a good deal of additional weight.
His popularity continues to grow, along with his size, and he has gained the attention of both interesting and powerful people. With a face so adorable, and a personality to boot, he is definitely becoming a star in his own right. This is wonderful because the struggle of the wombats in the natural environment could use more acknowledgment. I was surprised to see that on the day after Halloween the shops had their Christmas decorations up. I plan to get a designer bean bag for each of my parents to put on the boat they just purchased. Though I have had the idea of the gift in my mind since they told me that they were going to finally buy a boat, I imagined there was plenty of time left. Now that the tinsel, wreaths and ornaments are out on display I feel a tad behind the ball.
If the shops continue to creep the day that they put the holiday scenes up for Santa to sit, and get the gift wrapping booths up and functioning earlier every year, when will it end? Eventually, it will have to become a year round thing by default. In response to this forcing of the holiday upon me, I have committed to buy all of my gifts online. It is my own mini boycott of sorts. Of course this of all years will be the one where avoiding the malls will be easy because I always intended to get the bean bags online. Now, I just have to remember not to get a leather bean bag for them considering they will be around a great deal of water.

While I am impressed with contemporary bean bag furniture as a whole, there is something distinctive about a leather bean bag. Maybe it is because it is a material that makes me feel mature. To me, it says, I know exactly what I want and here it is for all to see.
I mean, as a child I could have had any cloth bean bag I wanted from the mini made collection. Then as an adolescent, I was given the option of a larger more impressive batch, but still cloth. Now that the entire thing is up to me, I can have it all if I want it. There is not a lot that I can afford to get top of the line, so this is one time when I say yes for premium. Because I deserve it, and also because the secret is that it is not truly leather it is faux.
